Getting Started

It's really hard to get a handle on chronic headaches once you are stuck in the cycle of pain. This is especially true given that even minimal overuse of the pain medications themselves can cause rebound headaches. Yet each time headaches start to take over my life, there are a few key steps I follow to begin taking back control. Here are some resources to get you started on the journey.

1. Track

One of the best ways to interrupt this vicious cycle is to start keeping track of things with a Headache Log. Let me be the first to say that I resist this step every time. I'm not sure why, but I do. For some reasons, tracking my headaches seems like such a drag. Then I spend a few more days in pain, and suddenly writing things down doesn't seem so bad after all.
