For the longest time, I didn’t know if I wanted to have kids. And then when I did decide to take the plunge, for some reason I was convinced I’d have a boy. Then I found out I was having a girl and the rest, as they say, is history.

I can’t think of anything more precious and mighty than the face of a growing girl. My tiny little daughter began to inspire me in new and unexpected ways.

As I watch her grow, my prayer for her is that she never feels the limitations of the world around her, and lives in the full bloom of her own inimitable power.

That’s why I’m here. If I want this to be her experience, then I must model this courage and creativity in the best way I know how.

So I did something I'd been dreaming of for a long time. I started writing inspiring stories for girls. This year I finished my first novel, Captive, and am now at work on the next book of the series. If you'd like to give it a read, you can find free digital copies here, and let me know what you think!

While I spend most of my time writing fiction, sometimes it feels nice to take a break and ponder life in all its messy and chaotic beauty, so you will find some of that here, too.

Yet despite all that, I hope you know that you matter, and that the world needs your brilliance. The world is full of problems and it needs your answers and your skills and your passions and your beauty. The world will not survive without you making your mark.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy reading and happy adventuring!
